Healthcare Reform Legislation, Hear It Now

Whew! Some people are pretty eager to share their opinions about healthcare reform. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of bias — and too much of it is based on other biased opinions instead of the actual text of the proposed legislation.  Funny how that happens. But then who has time to read over a 1,000 pages of proposed legislation? Not me. However, I do have time to read a few pages every now and then, and so apparently do other voice actors.

Thanks to my friends, Kat Keesling and Diane Havens, founders of HearTheBill.org, now you can hear the proposed legislation for yourself. All of HR 3200 is now available in audio and the Chairman’s Mark is being recorded now. I did two sessions of the Mark. I’m not sure when the audio will be available, but QC moves pretty fast over at HearTheBill.org.  Pretty impressive.

I’m very pleased to have had the chance to help with this project and look forward to doing more.

Susan Boyle Proves The Right Voice Changes Everything

I love great public moments! I’ve never seen one like this before: in just minutes, Susan Boyle won the audience over on Britain’s Got Talent. If you haven’t seen the YouTube video, do yourself a favor and check it out now:

Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent 2009

She’s got an amazing voice! Just turn up the volume and enjoy; and then watch it again, but look at the audience reaction. That’s really what it’s about when your vocal cords start vibrating — moving people.

You just know someone will be knocking on Susan’s door and asking to turn her story into a movie. I can’t wait.

Help Send Holiday Magic CD 2008 to Children’s Hospital

Hello Friends, Clients and Colleagues, I was recently invited to submit a track for a compilation holiday CD. The CDs will be delivered to kids who will unfortunately spend the holidays in a hospital and not at home with their families. Below is a message from the CD producer and project sponsor, Jeff Gelder of GelderHead Productions, along with an excerpt from the press release with the details on this non-profit project.

Your small donation would send more CDs to the kids. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to read more about this neat project and the famous people involved (along with upstart little me!). You can cut to the chase and go directly to the donations page here: Holiday Magic CD Donations. Every $2.00 puts a CD in a child’s hands.

There’s no pressure to contribute if you can’t afford it, but if you want to nudge a friend who can afford it, please feel free to forward a link to this blog or to HolidayMagicCD.com. e.

Happy Holidays and all the best!

Seasons Greetings!

I would like to invite you to please consider an opportunity to help underwrite a holiday CD project for the children and their siblings at Children’s Hospital’s in San Diego, Orange County, New Orleans, Miami, Albuquerque, Houston and Milwaukee. All funds will go to producing copies of the CD and delivering them free of charge to Children’s Hospitals. (For corporate donations we are now able to offer a 501c3 tax deduction please inquire prior to making the donation)

Here are the details…

Through the generous donations of several singers and actors we have created the sixth annual compilation recording titled “Holiday Magic 2008…A Gift for Children of all Ages.” The tale is weaved by Jeffrey the surfer dude reindeer and Santa Claus as they make their way from the North Pole to visit the children. Two years ago they met Jeffrey’s cousin Carlito who lives at the San Diego Wild Animal Park! Then we met Kate the reindeer from Milwaukee and this year Jeffrey, Carlito and Kate will be joined by Rudolph, Donner and Blitzen when Santa gets a new sleigh complete with GPS!

The talent this year is once again remarkable and includes award winning singer and actress Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura from the Star Trek) and her voice actor sister Marian Michaels. Other performers who generously lent their talent to the CD are extraordinary vocalist and recording artist Peggy Lebo, Broadway singer Ashley Fox Linton, Voice Talent September Day Leach, singer, song writer Karl Anthony, and recording artists Beth Wernick, Jeff Davis, James Higgins, Erik Sheppard, Nikki Saco, Hector Navarro, Donna Reed, and many more.

The goal is to brighten the holidays for the sick children spending the season at Children’s Hospital and their siblings who often feel lonely due to the other child requiring more attention from the parents. Last year 1500 copies of the CD were delivered to Children’s and they were thrilled to have them and distribute them to their patients!

Our goal is to produce and deliver a minimum of 1500 copies this year, which will be delivered in December. Please consider donating $35 or as much as possible. No amount is too big or too small. Each $2.00 donation will get a CD to a child. Your gift is appreciated immensely!

Please make your check payable toGelderHead Productions and write for Children’s Hospital CD fund in the memo line. Then mail it to:
